Noted New Jersey author and journalist Carlotta Holton will present a Zoom session on floriography, the language of flowers, on Tuesday, April 5, at 6:30 p.m.
Holton, of Chester, will focus on the Victorian practice of adding particular meanings to certain flowers: a woman rejecting a suitor might send him yellow roses; a man leaving for overseas might give his girlfriend forget-me-nots. Flowers are important in many cultures around the world, and she will explore some of the superstitions, traditions, myths, and legends attached to them.
