The saying may be that laughter is the best medicine but getting colorful for a cause by taking part in Atlantic Health’s Colors for Cancer Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 28, will help local cancer patients get the best care they can at Joan Knechel Cancer Center.
The Colors for Cancer Fun Run/Walk will be held at Riverfront Park on Seber Road in Hackettstown. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. and the Fun Run/Walk steps off at 9:30 a.m.
This popular style of “race” allows participants of all ages and abilities to enjoy a 1.5-mile, color-filled track at their own pace. Walkers and runners will be showered with non-toxic, cornstarch-based colored powder as they pass color stations, turning them into walking rainbows! There is no timing available for the event.
All money raised will stay local to benefit the Joan Knechel Cancer Center, funding cancer programs and services at Hackettstown Medical Center.
Online pre-registration is $35 for adults and $25 for participants ages 6-13. Children under 6 are invited to participate for free but will not receive a participant package. Each registered participant will receive a white event T-shirt, sunglasses, and a personal color packet to toss at the “after party.” Participant packages will be available during check-in. Pre-registration will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Sign-ups will be available the morning of the event; add $10 for day-of registration.
The event is rain or shine and is presented by Advanced Care Oncology & Hematology Associates.
To register or for more information, please visit atlantichealth.org/ColorsCancer. Pre-registration is encouraged. As colors are cornstarch-based, please take allergies into consideration.
