This Sunday, Feb. 26, join the Pete McGuinness Sextet at Rutherfurd Hall for a “Salute to Mel Torme.”
Part of the Great Jazz series, the salute to the “Velvet Fog” of jazz, nicknamed for his velvety voice, will cover the classic songs of Torme’s career.
Leading the sextet is Pete McGuinness, a three-time Grammy nominee, known in the New York jazz scene for his trombone and vocals. Joining him will be Andy Eulau on bass, Bill Mobley on trumpet, Jon Gordon on sax, and Scott Neumann on drums. Ted Kooshian, who has worked with such greats as Aretha Franklin and Chuck Berry, will play the piano.
The concert will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Tickets are available at www.rutherfurdhall.org, or in person at Panther Valley Pharmacy and Mama’s Café Baci.
Rutherfurd Hall is located at 1686 Route 517 in Allamuchy, right next to the Route 80 on-ramp.
