Author Musto Talk Scheduled; College Plans Seminar on tap
As it does every year, the Hackettstown Public Library is participating in Library Card Sign-up Month in September.
The American Library Association sponsors the Sign-up Month to ensure every child in the country has a library card. This is not just to take out books, it is to assist families in saving money on educational resources including free access to STEAM programs/activities, virtual homework help and many more library-centered activities.
In addition, on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Hackettstown library welcomes New Jersey author, Katrina Musto to read an excerpt from her book, And Then the Phone Rang: What I’ve Learned About Life, Love, and Lasagna and answer questions about the life of a writer and the world of self-publishing.
Growing up, Katrina Musto had the beautiful house with the white picket fence, a golden retriever, and a large, Italian family she saw for weekly Sunday spaghetti dinners. One chilly November day in the wee hours of the morning, everything changed, and the years that followed truly tested how strong one can be in their darkest hours.
“And Then The Phone Rang: What I’ve Learned About Life, Love, and Lasagna,” is her self-published memoir which aims to inspire others to see the light at the end of the tunnel when all hope has faded away. It describes one young woman’s journey through hell and back and how life can become beautiful again, if you work hard enough to push past the boundaries.
Registration is on the website: hackettstownlibrary.org.
