The Warren County Library will be all about love on Tuesday, Feb. 1, with a Valentine’s Day Zoom session from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Constance Hallinan Lagan will present a program on learning to love ourselves and says we can honor Valentine’s Day even if we are not in a “significant” relationship. The degree and intensity to which we are loved depends upon our own capacity to love. The more we love ourselves, the greater our capacity. Learning to love ourselves is the first, and most important, step to giving to and receiving love from another.

Learning to love ourselves does not always come easily or naturally. Hallinan explains there are steps we can take, windows we can open, that will enable us to appreciate the beauty, the wisdom, the love within. True and lasting love begins with one. Even the most loving, long-term relationship is enhanced when partners learn to love themselves as well as the other.

She presents a hope-filled program designed to enhance awareness of our own very powerful ability to value ourselves, as individuals, whether single or coupled.

Lunar New Year

The other big February holiday is the Lunar New Year. The library invites you to make a paper lantern and celebrate the Year of the Tiger on Zoom on Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 4 to 5 p.m. The program is designed for children and teens. To register, contact Jesse at jfarparan@warrenlib.org.

A different view of Valentine’s Day, one for preschoolers, will be presented on Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Miss Lina and Miss Gerrie will present stores, games and a craft.
