Swing into Spring with the sweet sounds of the Jerry Weldon Quartet on March 17.
Taking the Rutherfurd Hall stage on Sunday, March 17, you won’t want to miss the talents of saxophonist Jerry Weldon and his band. The concert runs 3-5 p.m. in the historical mansion.
Weldon, an internationally-renowned sax man, has been a player on the jazz scene for 35 years. With a resume that includes being head tenor sax for Harry Connick, Jr., Weldon’s saxophone skills have taken him ‘round the world and back again. The list of influential jazz musicians he has performed with is longer than his saxophone itself.
The Weldon Quartet is marked by the unique use of organ music, played by Akiko Tsuruga. Joining these talented musicians are the impeccable Byron Landham on drums and Ed Cherry on guitar.
Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased on the Rutherfurd Hall website or in-person at Mama’s Café Baci in Hackettstown or Panther Valley Pharmacy in Allamuchy. The series is sponsored by Panther Valley Pharmacy and Heath Village Retirement Community (Hackettstown).
Rutherfurd Hall is located at 1686 Route 517 in Allamuchy, just off Interstate 80. For more information, visit www.RutherfurdHall.org or call (908) 852-1894 ext. 338.
