It was a night of celebration as the six newest inductees of the Warren County Hall of Fame were honored at Hawk Pointe Golf Club on Saturday Dec. 1. Left to right in front: Hall of Famers Class of 2018 Dr. Marc Abo, Marian Bredin, Dr. James Goodwin and Rev. Dr. Frank Fowler; in back, Warren County Community College Foundation Director Samir Elbassiouny, Freeholder Jason Sarnoski, Hall of Famer William “Billy” Staples, Robert Plenge Jr., who accepted Hall of Fame honors on behalf of his father, Freeholder Director Ed Smith and WCCC President, Dr. Will Austin. The event is presented annually by the WCCC Foundation. Proceeds benefit students and programs at the College.
The celebration got an earlier start that evening as the new Hall of Fame location at WCCC was made official. There were smiles galore as Dr. Marc Abo cut the ribbon at the new “Hall of Fame” hall at the College. He was joined by left to right, WCCC Foundation Director Samir Elbassiouny, Warren County Freeholder Jason Sarnoski, HOF’er Dr. James Goodwin, WCCC President Dr. Will Austin, HOF’er Rev. Dr. Frank Fowler, Pohatcong Mayor (and incoming freeholder) James Kern III, Dr. Abo, Freeholder Director Ed Smith, Assemblyman Erik Peterson, and HOF’er William “Billy” Staples. The “Hall” includes a wall plaque with every Hall of Famer listed, as well as memorabilia about many of the members of the Hall. The Hall is open to the public during regular college hours on the main campus on Route 57 in Washington Township.
