In remembrance of 9/11, the House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown will recognize the efforts of the local first responders in the region, most of whom are volunteers, who selflessly give of their time to help others throughout the year. The House and its residents are committed to “Never Forget” – and have scheduled this gesture of respect and reverence for a day that impacted so many people and aspects of our society for Tuesday Sept. 7. The event and a ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. 

The event and ceremony is open to first responders, their families and the general public. Light refreshments will be served. 

“Although 20 years has passed, 9/11/2001 is still a very vivid and tragic memory for our country,” said Sue Lanza, CEO of The House. “It is important to The House of the Good Shepherd community to honor and remember those that were lost that day.”

The 9/11 Remembrance Day on Sept. 7 to recognize and honor those lost 20 years ago and the first responders we depend on now, will be held on the front lawn of The House, located at 798 Willow Grove Street. Employees of The House will place flags throughout the retirement community’s campus in honor of every person lost on 9/11 over the next few weeks.

Gina Arnone, HR Generalist at The House, noted, “We wanted to involve all of our employees in this activity that will be a literal demonstration of our commitment to ‘Never Forget.””
