As the nights grow longer, it’s tradition that Hackettstown Medical Center provides some light! It’s that time of year again: the third annual Holiday Lights Festival will be held on the campus of Hackettstown Medical Center on Saturday, Nov. 23.
All are welcome to join the Hackettstown Medical Center family as they gather to light the hospital building and campus to celebrate the start of the holiday season. This free community event is brought to you by the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center and Advanced Care Oncology and Hematology Associates.
Outdoor festivities will begin at 5 p.m. and will include a special visit from Santa; arts, crafts and face painting for the kids; snacks and live entertainment. Be sure to be on hand in time for the 6:30 p.m. countdown to the lighting of the hospital campus, followed by a fantastic fireworks display.
Each year, the Holiday Lights Festival celebrates those who have made a positive impact toward the progress of Hackettstown Medical Center. This year’s honorees are the Knechel and Bahnuk families – four generations who have shown dedicated support of Hackettstown Medical Center, including the famous Bucket Brigade fund raising effort of the 1960’s and the founding of the Joan Knechel Cancer Center.
“Hackettstown Medical Center was conceived and built thanks to the efforts of this community. As we remember our deep roots, hosting this heartwarming, festive event is another way for us to demonstrate our firm commitment to our role as this community’s hospital,” said Megan Sandow, Chief Development Officer at Hackettstown Medical Center.
In addition to attending, families can be a part of the Holiday Lights Festival by sponsoring a String of Lights, Lighted Tree or Holiday Wreath in memory/in honor of loved ones. All donations will be listed in the program distributed on event night. For more information, visit atlantichealth.org/HolidayLights.
All are welcome to attend this free event. The event will be held rain, snow or shine and there will be plenty of free parking.
