Last year, the Warren Hills and Hackettstown High School student body governments decided to turn the schools’ long-time rivalry into a community-benefitting activity by holding its inaugural Battle of the Food Banks.
Jointly collecting almost 800 non-perishable goods last year, the schools set their sights higher this year, aiming to collect 1,000 items during this especially difficult year.
They, in fact, exceeded that goal, collecting 1,177 items! The donation was equally split between food banks in Hackettstown and Washington.
