Rutherfurd Hall will be hosting a spooktacular talk on Monday, Oct. 22, that takes novice makeup artists through the process of making their zombie or vampire costumes come alliiiivvvveeee.
Kicking off at 7 p.m., the free talk will be led by Centenary University Theatre Arts Professor Stephen Davis.
Featuring audience participation and hands-on instruction, Professor Davis will take Halloween face painting novices, aspiring performers, and those just curious to see the magic of performance makeup in action, through the stages of transforming humans to monsters. The 60-minute workshop will cover the basics of makeup application with a focus on trauma simulation, which are at the heart of any good zombie, vampire, or other undead costume. Depending on time, additional makeup applications may be explored for a range of costume options.
The Centenary University lecture series at Rutherfurd Hall is sponsored by The House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown. The series brings Centenary University professors to the historical site to talk about what they know best!
