Starting this spring, The Hackettstown Rotary Club will be sponsoring the Kevin McCall Guyette “Mover and Shaker” Memorial Scholarship. The $1,000 annual scholarship is reserved for a graduating senior from Warren County Technical School

The scholarship is named in honor of Kevin, who, at the time of her passing in 2018, was a vibrant member of the Hackettstown Rotary Club. She was also a long-time Executive Director of The Arc of Warren County Foundation.

This is a new scholarship that is made possible as a result of fundraising efforts by Hackettstown Rotary Club. The Club currently sponsors two annual scholarships to seniors graduating from Hackettstown High School.

In business and in life, Kevin was known far and wide in this region as a person who loved to connect those who would benefit from knowing each other. Kevin had an amazingly clever wit and she was always willing to roll up her sleeves to get the job done – often with plenty of warm laughter and a never-ending supply of interesting stories. 

This scholarship is open to any Warren County Technical School graduating senior who will be pursuing trade school, two-year college, or directly entering the workforce to begin their chosen profession. The applicant must demonstrate proficiency in organized or informal peer leadership and must be active in community service. The ideal candidate will be considered an enthusiastic motivator among their peers, a person who values integrity and loyalty to their cause(s) and someone who is always willing to step up for tasks that will benefit others.

“I am so pleased that The Hackettstown Rotary Club will be able to provide this scholarship to a deserving student from Warren County Technical School,” says Laurie Rapisardi, President of The Hackettstown Rotary Club. “It is a wonderful way to also honor Kevin’s memory, as she made such a positive impact on the lives of those who had the benefit of knowing and working with her.”
