The Hackettstown Rotary Foundation and Front Line Appreciation Group (FLAG) of Hackettstown have partnered to provide meals for healthcare staff at Hackettstown Medical Center during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the first week alone, over $17,000 was raised, resulting in 500 meals delivered and another 800 future meals scheduled.
“This is such a wonderful initiative and a great way to thank those who are serving on the frontlines during this pandemic,” says Laurie Rapisardi, President of The Hackettstown Rotary Club. “I want to thank all of our community members who have shown much-needed support and brought some cheer to our medical workers at this uncertain time.”
Money raised supports not only the 100+ individuals who receive meals each day, but also area restaurants, from which the meals are ordered.
“Since frontline caregivers and area restaurants both need support at this time, this is a win/win for our community,” said Kristin Abromitis Jacobs, organizer of the Hackettstown chapter of FLAG.
They extended special thanks to WRNJ Radio, which has promoted the drive.
