Who will be among this year’s newest members of the Hackettstown-Area Senior Hall of Fame?
Your input is important to the selection committee. If you know someone over the age of 60 who has made an impact on individuals, communities or organizations in the area, the committee wants to hear from you.
Nominations are now open for the Hackettstown-Area Senior Hall of Fame Class of 2022. A recognition luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday May 11 at David’s Country Inn in Hackettstown.
The Senior Hall is now hosted by the House of the Good Shepherd Retirement Community in Hackettstown. The Hall had taken a “hiatus” due in part because of the COVID-19 pandemic but is now looking to add to the more than 250 Hall of Fame members this year.
Individuals who are 60 years of age and older as of Jan. 1, 2022, are eligible to be nominated. When nominating someone for the Hall supporting information should include how the person has made a difference and which community organization or individuals have benefitted from the senior’s specific efforts, including volunteerism if applicable. The full criteria details are outlined in the nomination form. The deadline for nominations is March 31.
“We know that there are so many deserving people in our area,” said Sue Lanza, CEO of The House. “If you know someone who you think fits the criteria of a Hall of Famer we want to hear from you!”
The Hackettstown-Area Senior Hall of Fame was originally established as part of a community outreach initiative at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. From the start, honorees have been recognized for the impacts that they have done to help others.
