Grant Provides Pharm Tech Funding At WCCC

Individuals looking to become Pharmacy Technicians through a program offered at Warren County Community College may be eligible for a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Opportunity Partnershp Grant program.

In order to qualify for a grant, individuals will first need to attend a free information session. The next Pharmacy Technician Training at WCCC is scheduled from June 4th through July 25th at the College’s Phillipsburg Education Center.

Graduates of this program could quickly be in line for job opportunities. In fact, QuVa Pharma, located in Bloomsbury, is a partner in the program and will have representatives at the information sessions to talk about job possibilities at their facility.

QuVa, which started operations at its Northeast facility in July 2017 in Bloomsbury, has already hired WCCC graduates since its opening.

The free information sessions will be held at the Warren County One Stop Career Center located at 75 S. Main Street, Phillipsburg, May 23 or May 24, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and at the Morris County One Stop Career Center located at 13 Emery Avenue, Randolph, May 29th at 11 a.m. Pre-registration is required.

Job opportunities for Certified Pharmacy Technician careers are growing and include opportunities in retail and hospital based pharmacies as well as pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.  QuVa Pharma anticipates hiring up to 50 well qualified candidates with Pharmacy Technician training and National Certification over the next year.

The partnership between QuVa and WCCC has indeed been a success thus far with several WCCC grads obtaining employment there.

QuVa’s corporate headquarters is based in Sugar Land, TX, but in an effort to expand its operations in the Northeast the company purchased the Bloomsbury property, which is situated strategically near Routes 78 and 22 and allows for future expansion.

To register for one of these information sessions, or for future dates, contact Dawn Smith at WCCC, 908-835-4029, or sign up online at http://bit.ly/OSCCInfoSessionRegister. Detailed Information Session Flyer (Warren County):  http://freepdfhosting.com/b89b250f90.pdf.
