St. James’ Episcopal Church of Hackettstown will be holding its 8th Annual Golf Outing June 27 to benefit the church’s community programs.
The golf benefit, a four-person scramble format, will be held at Farmstead Golf & Country Club in Lafayette Township on Monday, June 27. It will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start with registration and box lunch beginning at 11 a.m.
Funds raised through the event will be used to help carry out the ministry and mission of St. James’ and will support an array of programs. These initiatives include the Backpack Program, which provides supplemental food to local children, sending a team of teens to Appalachia to repair homes, and opening the parish hall as a warming and food center in times of need. St. James’ also hosts literacy tutoring, the North Porch Women and Infant Center, which provides critical supplies for babies in need, and grief counseling through the Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center.
The outing costs $125 per person, which includes golf, cart, box lunch, event gifts, and a banquet dinner, as well as door prizes. On-course contests include longest drive and closest to the pin, among others.
Farmstead Golf & Country Club offers beautifully manicured fairways and greens among a picturesque setting. It is located at 88 Lawrence Road in Lafayette Township.
For questions, to register, or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, please contact the golf committee by e-mail at stjamesgolf214@gmail.com. Registration is requested by June 13.
