Grassroots effort grew to benefit thousands of local residents
What makes Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc.’s 50th anniversary special?
When a small group of local residents first got together in the early 1970s to discuss helping adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities with their vocational needs, they could not have anticipated what the future held in store.
From its humble beginnings as a small workshop in Washington, NJ, to service, program and social enterprise expansion throughout Warren, Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, and Sussex Counties, Abilities has helped thousands of individuals gain vocational and life skills leading to fulfilling lives.
Abilities will celebrate its milestone 50th anniversary with its Dream-Believe-Achieve Gala at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in Hampton, NJ, on Saturday, May 11. Information regarding admission, sponsorships, auction items, and tickets for a special 50/50 raffle is available by clicking this link.
“For a half century, Abilities has partnered with families, advocates, staff, volunteers, and local businesses to ensure the success of the persons we are privileged to support,” said Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Wildermuth. “We’re grateful for our community and proud of our accomplishments, and we’re excited to celebrate all year, including at our Dream-Believe-Achieve Gala in May.”
