Glowacky, QuVa, Rev. Greco To Be Recognized By Hall

Former Superintendent at Warren County Technical School Robert Glowacky, pharma company QuVa, and Rev. Beth Greco, CEO/President of Hoving Home, a non-profit devoted to helping women rebuild their lives after suffering through an addiction, will all be recognized with special awards at the 9th Annual Warren County Hall of Fame Dinner on Saturday Dec. 1.

The event, to be held at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington Township, is open to the public. The Hall of Fame dinner  is presented annually by the WCCC Foundation as a fundraiser for students in need. The permanent Hall is located on the WCCC main campus on Route 57 in Washington Township.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductees include Rev. Dr. Frank Fowler, Marian Bredin, Drs. Marc Abo and James Goodwin, Billy Staples, and Rob Plenge posthumously.

Glowacky, now retired, will be the recipient of the President’s Award for his efforts at Warren Tech and also for his efforts in working with Warren County Community College on various partnerships.

At the top of the list of partnerships, Glowacky pointed to the College’s Dual Enrollment program, giving Tech students not only “trade skills” but also the opportunity to get a college degree at a major cost savings.  He noted that attaining a college degree also helps students in other ways.

“The dual enrollment is the best idea I’ve seen,” said Glowacky, in education for many years, starting as a teacher and later principal and finally, superintendent. “It’s really almost too good to be true. It helps students get started with college, ensuring ultimately that they not only learn a vocational skill but it balances out with academics. A college degree gives them better earning potential. It brings weight to a job interview. It says that not only are they good with their hands but they’ve got a head on their shoulders. It’s an asset.”

With the College and Tech essentially “sharing” a campus, students can easily walk to classes next door.

Glowacky is also being recognized for his work at the Tech and bringing it to a new level over the years.

“I am very proud of the program at Tech,” he said. “We’ve done a lot of great things.”

He is particularly proud of the security measures now in place at Tech. “We’ve worked hard to make it a very safe environment for our students. That’s been a priority. In the process we’ve enjoyed a very good relationship with local law enforcement.”

In his retirement, Glowacky is busier than ever working around the house and tending to his granddaughters (a 3rd is on the way)!

Rev. Greco, CEO/President of Hoving Home, with a location in Oxford, is this year’s Special Recognition award-winner.

Rev. Greco’s compelling journey into recovery ministry, began in 1992, as a troubled young woman whose life was derailed by drugs and alcohol. It was her church that intervened on her behalf as darkness quickly engulfed her life. It was her youth pastor who first heard of the Hoving Home in New York and that it had a proven track record of successful recovery for women in bondage to life controlling issues, using only the power of God’s love to break the shackles of addiction.

Her church set a plan in motion to save her life and arranged for a one way ticket to NY, as many, including her family, had all but given up hope for her recovery and saw the Hoving Home as a last resort to save her life. And save her, it did.

Rev. Greco then continued in her recovery journey as part of the staff team of Hoving Home and in 2016 was named CEO/

President of the Hoving Home. The Hoving Home was established in 1967 and has been serving women for over 51 years.

One of the first accomplishments under Rev. Greco’s leadership was the purchase of a property in Oxford. That Home opened in April, 2017 and serves 30 women at a time in its residential recovery program helping them find a new way of life. Since opening the Warren County location has served a total of 156 women.

Hoving Home has become a part of the greater community as well, with its choir performing regularly in the area and also taking part in community events such as Overdose Awareness Day, candlelight vigils, Race 4 Recovery, town hall meetings, roadside clean-ups, and the Warren County Farmers Fair.

Rev. Greco is an in demand speaker who has shared her compelling testimony of God’s amazing grace around the world. She has appeared on many television shows including the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Fox News Channel along with numerous local and national publications. She is also active in local communities on various drug task force coalitions and community groups. The group’s Executive Director, Megan Raftery, serves on the Warren County Addiction Awareness Task Force.

Rev. Greco is married to her husband, Tim, and they are the proud parents of a son, Jason.

QuVa Pharma is going to receive the Special Achievement Award as a business that is truly making a difference in the community at-large.

When QuVa Pharma in Bloomsbury started operations at its Northeast facility in July 2017 in Bloomsbury, officials wanted to make an impact on the regional community with jobs and other support efforts. It has done that, and then some. QuVa’s corporate headquarters is based in Sugar Land, TX, but in an effort to expand its operations in the Northeast the company purchased the Bloomsbury property, which is situated strategically near Routes 78 and 22 and allows for future expansion.

By the end of this year QuVa is expected to employ around 175 employees, many of whom live with a half-hour of its location. Once it is fully operational in the Fall of 2019, with a second building being renovated, it is expected that there will be over 250 employees here. Quva and WCCC have been working essentially hand in hand since the company moved to Warren County in an effort to provide training and classes – and potential employees – to Quva. The relationship has truly been highly successful.

The establishment of the Warren County Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Warren County Community College Foundation, creates a forum for honoring Warren County’s finest in an array of fields. The Hall of Fame itself is set up at Warren County Community College, where the public is invited to see it.
