From the Halls of Warren Hills: May 21, 2021

Warren Hills recently recognized its graduating athletes who will be continuing their athletic careers in college.

Two teachers have been recognized for their work this year from national groups.

Agricultural Science Teacher and FFA Advisor Patricia Smith has been awarded the National Association of Agricultural Educators’ Teachers Turn the Key Scholarship this year. Shewill receive a scholarship to attend the annual NAAE Convention. This program is sponsored by RAM Trucks.

Meanwhile, business teacher Julia Henning was honored as a “Learning Innovator” by the Microsoft Teacher Appreciation Program. “We are very proud of Ms. Henning, and her tireless efforts to prepare her students for life beyond Warren Hills,” said the school.

The New Jersey State Board of Education has recognized Warren Hills Senior Robert Delghiaccio, the Warren Hills Robotics Team, Teacher/Advisor Adam Slack, Teacher/Advisor Mr. Daryl Detrick, and the Warren Hills Robotics Association for their efforts in creating and distributing face shields to frontline workers in our community and our region at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bobby and his peers, with the support of our faculty and the community at large produced more than 27,000 face shields and raised more than $43,000.00.

Each year, the New Jersey State Board of Education recognizes one student or student group from each of the state’s 21 counties to be recognized for this award.

EVENTS

Warren Hills’ Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will host a Craft & Vendor Show tomorrow, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the High School (41 Jackson Valley Road, Washington). More than two dozen vendors—plus two food vendors—will be selling their wares. The fair will be held outdoors.
