Norwescap is bringing back its popular Frolic In The Park this Thursday, May 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Walters Park in Phillipsburg after a two year Covid-hiatus. Open to the entire community and completely free of charge, it’s an opportunity for pre-school children (ages three to five) and their parents to share some outdoor fun.The much loved event, which will be held rain or shine, has been hosted in Phillipsburg by Norwescap’s Child and Family Resource Services team for 20 years.
Wendy White, Family Engagement Specialist at Norwescap Child and Family Resource Services, points out that “this event always builds up community awareness by bringing together childcare providers and other family-centered agencies to share information and resources and offer a great time for children and families in our area.”
For children, Frolic In The Park gives youngsters and their families an evening out in their hometown and allows them to meet a host of local organizations, including Phillipsburg Police with their free fingerprinting program, as well as the Phillipsburg Fire Department which will have a fire truck on hand for the little ones to check out. Free snacks, games, art activities, giveaways and a homespun carousel round out the festivities.
Promising to pack plenty of merriment into a couple hours, all are invited to join Norwescap’s Child and Family Resource Services in welcoming Spring with a fun night. Walters Park is located at 1 Meyner Road in Phillipsburg. Contact Wendy White at 908-454-1078 for more information or visit www.norwescap.org.
