Home Instead Senior Care of Hunterdon and Warren Counties is offering a free Family Caregiver Workshop on Thursday, April 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Part of owner Tracy Fazzolari’s commitment to providing family caregivers with training, resources, and support, the Alzheimer’s Changing Aging through Research and Education (CARE for short) workshop will cover three main topic areas.
The first is learning more about Alzheimer’s and other dementias, including symptoms, causes, diagnosis, and understanding behaviors common to the disease. Second is learning techniques to handle these challenging behaviors and how to determine what techniques are best for individual scenarios. Third is encouraging engagement, including learning the benefits of staying active, encouraging loved ones to engage in an activity, and familiarizing oneself with suitable activities for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
The workshop will be held at the Home Instead Senior Care office at 127 Belvidere Ave., Washington. Reserve a spot by calling 908-835-1400 or e-mail Leanne.godleski@homeinstead.com.
