Former Professional soccer player Ismar Tandir wants to share his knowledge of the sport he loves to others who are aspiring for success on the field.   

Tandir, who has played for the New York Red Bulls and for teams in Europe, recently opened up T3 Sports Academy in Downtown Washington where private and team instruction is offered.

Tandir notes that his clients come from all over New Jersey. 

“A lot of (them are) MLS Next level kids which is the best from New Jersey,” said Tandir, who was a pro for 10 years before retiring due to injuries. “They include kids that play on academies like Red Bulls, TSF Academy, Ironbound and are Cedar stars. We also have a lot of local kids we hope to help produce better soccer here in Warren County and New Jersey.”

Tandir is no stranger to Warren County, having grown up in Hackettstown. After many years living on the road with various teams, he says “It feels amazing to be back home.”

As a pro, Tandir enjoyed many great seasons, but the year 2018 sticks out to him as a real highlight. That year the forward scored 8 Goals in 11 games at the highest level of European competition in Slovakia Europe.

The 28-year old Tandir was born in Germany but has long held U.S. citizenship as well as Bosnian-Herzegovinian citizenship via his family roots. Tandir, in fact, got his first international experience as a member of the Bosnian U19 National Team camp in 2012. 

Tandir is excited about bringing his knowledge and experiences to the region.

“I am enjoying the moment and working hard,” he said. “Parents give everything for their kids so when the opportunity comes at us we hope to pay the parents back in the long term. That might be a full ride in college, or further.”
