The Washington Business Improvement District will honor its “finest” over the past year when it hosts its Annual Business Recognition reception on Thursday Feb. 9.
Tom Fischer, Warren County Dental Center, Gibson’s Fitness Center, and Frank and Maria Hadley will all get the “star treatment” for their contributions to the Washington Borough business community.
“All of our honorees this year are leaders in supporting Washington Borough in one way or another,” said Melanie Thiel, Executive Director of the WBID. “Each in their own way are important to Washington’s present and future business success.”
This year’s event will be held at Hawk Pointe Golf Club from 6-9 p.m. and includes dinner, musical entertainment with The 3 Lelicas, and an awards ceremony.
Tom Fischer, pictured above, will be recognized as the Business Person of the Year. A longtime attorney in the Borough he was recently cited by the New Jersey County Courts for his work with the community. Fischer has also been a big supporter of the Washington BID and many of its activities, as well as supporting various programs in town.
Warren County Dental Center has also been one of the biggest supporters of WBID activities over the past couple of years, sponsoring numerous events, but is also very active in the Greater Washington community. The Dental Center has truly become a true staple to the community here, business and otherwise.
Gibson’s Fitness Center’s incredible redevelopment projects, which includes its outdoor pavilion, is definitely worthy of recognition. It continues to be one of the Borough’s most successful businesses, in part because it is forward-thinking in an effort to stay ahead of the competition.
Visitors to Washington events might wonder who are those people dressed up like Dickens characters? Well, that would be Frank and Maria Hadley, who volunteer their time to make WBID events that much more enjoyable. And, at their own expense, have donated a photo booth with free photos each year for Hometown Holiday. They never ask for anything in return. They are this year’s Community Partner award recipients.
“Can’t think of any better Community Partners than Frank and Maria,” said Thiel.
Supporters of the 2023 Recognition Reception are Broscious, Fischer & Zater, Visions Federal Credit Union, Warren County Dental Center, Fliegauf Jewelers, New Jersey American Water Company, Heath Village, Good Impressions, Printabilities and Hawk Pointe Golf Club.
The event is open to the public. Reservations are highly recommended as this event has sold out in the past. Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door. To purchase tickets visit www.washingtonbid.org or call 908-689-4800. To reserve a table, call the WBID office.
