This year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll and Steampunk Fair in Washington is going international!
Headlining the 4th Annual Washington Rock ‘n’ Roll and Steampunk Fair will be Victor and the Bully, direct from England.
The Steampunk Fair combines the steam-powered Victorian Era energy of the classic science fiction genre with a punk and rock ‘n’ roll feel that makes for an amazing day of retro-futuristic fun.
Themed vendors, live music, and activities are planned from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday May 4 in and around Veteran’s Park at 44 East Washington Avenue (Route 57), Washington (Warren County), in the center of the Downtown.
The eclectic music lineup also includes our own Washington based Crash Gordon and Debra Dynamite, and Frenchy & the Punk.
The Steampunk Fair brings a scene that you certainly wouldn’t typically see in Warren County, with attendees dressed in “steampunk clothing and gear”, unique games and other assorted activities. But you don’t need to “dress the part” to attend. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy this family-friendly event.
“This is a unique event for the region,” said Melanie Thiel, Executive Director of the Washington Business Improvement District. “Much of the day’s fun is because it involves attendee participation, although not necessary! You can get dressed up if you want, or just come and enjoy the music and activities. Direct participation is not a requirement!”
Victor and the Bully come armed with a thunderous twisted sound and create a carnival blend of music inspired by pop, punk, swing, mariachi, classical and metal that blow the cobwebs away and get the feet tapping! Victor and the Bully have entertained from small stages, large public festivals, to sold out 2500 capacity venues playing to all types of audiences from UK, Lithuania, Czech Republic and the United States.
In addition to the live music, the day will consist of many other activities and performers, including Cheryl Schruefer, Stilt Walker, Lady Gypsy of Professional Monstrosity Sideshow, Interactive Puppeteer shows with Kernel Cornelius & his Rakish RagMuffins, woodworking demonstrations with the NJ School of Woodwork, Plant talks with The Rooted Lion, a Cream Tea Sitting at Kathy’s Kove, Victorian Photo Booth at Le Crepe Cafe, free hands on activities at Bricks, Bots & Beakers, The Cellar Door, Confidence Builders and M Galleries, and drink specials at Laughing Goat Coffee Bar and Scotty’s Stadium Club, as well as many other downtown business sales specials throughout the day.
Buttzville Brewing will host live music with A Halo Called Fred.
The full schedule of activities are on the WBID website, washingtonbid.org.
It is expected that over 70 vendors will participate this year. Some or those confirmed already are Captain Willoby’s Emporium, handmade themed clothing for men and woman with inclusive sizing; Cosmic Debris, funky molded candles; and Forged by Hand, tie-dyed clothing and laser art decor. For the kids – and adults – facepainting with Zella Bella Gaggle of Giggles.
Numerous downtown businesses will be featuring special offers throughout the day.
