The Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County will hold a “Night at the Races Beefsteak” on Friday evening, May 20, at the Independence Township Fire House, 24 Cemetery Road, Great Meadows.
The beefsteak dinner consists of a main course of all-you-can-eat beef tenderloin dipped in butter and served thinly on rounds of bread. It is served with French fried potatoes and salad. It is a protocol in the beefsteak world to leave the bread slices uneaten and piled on the plate to saves room for more beef and simultaneously serving as an informal scorekeeping system to determine how much beef has been consumed.
During the dinner, patrons will watch videotaped horse racing narrated from start to finish by many of America’s top-rated announcers for the suspense and close-up action to simulate being at the racetrack.
The night will include a ticket auction for a chance to win an assortment of gift baskets.
Several sponsorships are offered:
EVENT SPONSOR $500 which includes two tickets to the event, horse sponsorship and name on all printed materials for the night of the event.
RACE SPONSOR $200 which includes your name prominently displayed during the race and on all printed materials the night of the event.
HORSE SPONSOR $50 of one of 60 horses available to sponsor. The sponsor gets to name the horse and have the opportunity to win one of three grand prizes. Horse Sponsor does not include admission to the event.
