Ring in the new year with a swingin’ good time at Rutherfurd Hall as Daryl Sherman Quartet performs the first Great Jazz concert of 2017, on January 8.
The quartet will play the music of songwriter and composer Cole Porter.
Daryl Sherman has been a staple in the New York City jazz scene since the mid-70s, and has performed with talents including Artie Shaw, who called her a “first-rate singer.” She will provide vocals and play piano. Accompanying her are world-renowned trumpeter Warren Vache, James Chirillo on Guitar, and Boots Maleson on bass.
The concert will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, at Rutherfurd Hall. Tickets are available on the Rutherfurd Hall website and locally at Panther Valley Pharmacy in Allamuchy, or Mama’s & Café Baci in Hackettstown.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
Rutherfurd Hall is located at 1686 Route 517 in Allamuchy, right off Route 80 exit 19. The performance series is sponsored by Panther Valley Pharmacy and Heath Village Retirement Community. The Great Jazz Series is produced by Coyne Enterprises in cooperation with Rutherfurd Hall and WRNJ Radio.
