Cybersecurity Certificate For Modern Concern

Warren County Community College is rolling out its new Cybersecurity Certificate program this Fall, offering law enforcement and other professionals to learn about this all-too-important topic.

The Cybersecurity Certificate allows students to gain a critical understanding of the technological needs, threats, and weaknesses in cybersecurity, which is a very modern but constant concern. This course will introduce information on the subject and provide the tools and protocols needed to navigate, use, and manage security technologies, as well as gain insight into the legal, social, and political dynamics of the cyber universe.

The course runs Monday evenings from Sept. 16-Oct. 7.

The Cybersecurity Certificate program is among several new courses offered through a partnership between WCCC and the Fit4Basic 10-week Pre-Police Academy. Other offerings include Homeland Security Certificate, N.E.C.I. 911/EMD course with CPR-AED and State of New Jersey Telecommunications certification, Emergency Management, Crime Scene Forensics, and a Law Enforcement Prep Course Certification.

Open to the public, these courses require participants to be at least 18 years of age and hold a High School Diploma/GED.

The Cybersecurity Certificate Program and all law enforcement courses will be held at the Phillipsburg Education Center at 445 Marshall St., Phillipsburg.
