In celebration of its recent move to Washington Borough and its 2nd Anniversary in business, CrossFit WcG is hosting a grand opening party on Saturday May 5th.

CrossFit WcG, which had been in smaller Washington Township location, moved to the Borough earlier this year. It is located at 256 Belvidere Avenue in a spacious building that allows for growth.

The “grand opening” event on May 5 will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes live music, vendors, demonstrations, demo workouts, tours, educational information, nutritional facts, and an overall variety of health and awareness elements.  A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m.

CrossFit WcG combines various “functional movement” aspects of a workout from cardio to weightlifting to gymnastics, individually or in groups. “It’s a workout with real-life aspects to it,” according to owner Bill Colavito, who has lived in the Washington area since 2002. “We strongly believe in impacting people. For us, there’s no better feeling than pushing people beyond what they think they can do on their own.” He added, “This is our way of giving back to the community and helping others live a healthier and happier life.”

In fact, CrossFit’s mantra is – Constantly Varied, Functional Movements and High Intensity!

CrossFit is a training program that builds strength and conditioning through constantly varying workouts involving functional movements. Each day is a different workout with a personalized coach for the group.

The public is invited to this free event, which also includes light refreshments.

Colavito, whose “day job” is General Manager of Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos, started this business in his garage, then moved on to Port Colden and now to the Borough. “I have always been into fitness,” he says. “This is a way for me to work with people to make them healthier in a community-family type atmosphere.

Indeed, CrossFit WcG’s motto is, “Community…Strength…Commitment.”
