Crafts, Cybersecurity for Kids, Book Sale at Library

Children of all ages are welcome to drop in to the Richard D. Gardner Branch of the Warren County Library on Wednesdays, Dec. 8, 15, and 29, from 2 to 5 p.m. for a craft project in the Children’s Area. 

On Dec. 8, the craft will be a Hogwart’s House Bookmark. On Dec. 15, Mo Willem’s Pigeon. On Dec. 29, there will be miscellaneous crafts. Young children will need assistance with this craft. No registration is required.  

Cybersecurity for Kids

Children ages 5 through 13 can explore cybersecurity, learn how computers work, learn ways to protect our data and stay safe online, and investigate how cybercrime is prevented on a Zoom workshop on Friday, Dec. 10 at 4:30 p.m.

The activities fulfill the requirements for Girl Scout STEM Badges in Cybersecurity: Cybersecurity Basics, Cybersecurity Safeguards, and Cybersecurity Investigator for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes.

Book Sale 

The Friends of the Warren County Library, Richard D. Gardner Branch are holding a book and handmade item sale on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The proceeds from the sale will support the library and library programs. Donations will be accepted during regular library hours until Thursday, Dec. 9. Limit is one box per person. Books must be in gift-giving condition. No text books or encyclopedias will be accepted. 

Small Biz Workshop 

The Warren County Library will present a small business workshop on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Southwest Branch.

The workshop will be presented by Nancy Shea in conjunction with SCORE Northwest New Jersey. SCORE helps small businesses take advantage of free services. Small business owners will learn the different type of free services, the advantages of working with a mentor and success factors for small businesses and how SCORE can help. Ugly Sweater Ornament!

Adults can learn to make an ugly Christmas sweater ornament on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. on Facebook live courtesy of the Warren County Library. No registration is required, just log on to the library Facebook page.

Holiday Music

Musician, singer and songwriter Jesse Rivera will present holiday music in both English and Spanish in a Zoom concert on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. The concert is for all ages. Register with Kim Urban at (908) 818-1280 or kurban@warrenlib.org
