With so many people looking to step up and lend a hand, the Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders and local leaders are working with the American Red Cross to set up multiple blood drive locations around the county.

With thousands of blood drives canceled during the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Red Cross is working hard to open new donation sites.

“People are in desperate need for life-saving blood and the residents of Warren County want to step up to help provide it,” said Freeholder Jason J. Sarnoski, a long-term Red Cross volunteer and former board member of the organization. “I can’t thank everyone who stepped up to make this possible enough.”

Drives are scheduled for Blairstown and Independence, with a third one being planned in Phillipsburg.

The Blairstown Community Drive will be Monday, April 27 from 12:30-5:30 p.m. in the Blairstown Elementary School gymnasium, with a goal of collecting 36 pints. Register for this event here. Appointments are required.

The Independence Township Drive will take place Friday, May 15 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Independence Volunteer Fire Department, also with a goal of 36 pints. Register for this event here. Appointments are required.

To support social distancing, appointments are now required.
