Charlie Fineran’s Photo of the Week captures a burst of colors from a wetlands area near the outflow of Catfish Pond.
This photo, taken a couple of years ago, is a nice example showing the potential for many beautiful Fall Colors throughout our region, BUT, where are this year’s colors??!! Will this year’s colors be vibrant!!?? Wish I could answer those questions!! Trying to be an optimist, maybe this will be a late season. Looked out my window this morning, Friday, Oct. 19th and noticed the first frost in my area, A GOOD HEAVY FROST!! Frost is one of the events that triggers the change in colors. I believe this is late for our first frost!! In my travels, it still looks pretty green to me with a some dull yellowish/browns that almost make me think of dry conditions AND I KNOW ITS NOT THAT!! I see pockets of trees with almost no leaves, guess the recent rains and winds took care of them! Alas, let’s keep watching and waiting for Mother Nature’s Colorful Art Show!!
Included below are four links to sites/sights ‘Inside Warren’ showing off the beauty of Autumn!! I am also hoping they will provide you with some ideas of great places to visit!!
REMEMBER: Charlie says, “A photo may speak a thousand words, BUT, a photo can never duplicate the overall experiences of an in person visit!”
