Low Water / High Water along Delaware River at Phillipsburg
I was trying to think of a topic for today’s article, when I heard the latest weather report about the approaching Tropical Storm. Suddenly, I though, it might interesting to show, some comparison photos, about high and low water levels at the Delaware River. Phillipsburg is the perfect location with all its bridges to show comparisons from both water level and above water level on the bridges. I think this will be interesting and actually fun to see just how much change our weather systems can bring, especially around water!!
MODUS OPERANDI
I will number and label the photos to identify and give the location. Each number will depict the comparison of low and high water. Most of the high-water level photos were taken during April 2005 flooding. In Photo #3 you will also see the free bridge and the Route 22 Toll Bridge.
OBSERVATION
While I believe this will be and interesting, informative and even fun experience for many of you, getting these different perspectives and comparisons, I also want to emphasize that these situations, in dealing with Nature and water levels are really not to be taken lightly!!! FLOOD WATERS ARE DANGEROUS!!! We have only to go back several weeks in our memories and recall the utter havoc created by the local rain storms which ravaged parts of Warren County!!!
