Centenary University Names New Vice President for University Advancement

Centenary University has appointed Karen N. DiMaria to the position of vice president for university advancement.

A resident of Lincoln Park, New Jersey, DiMaria is now responsible for directing the university’s institutional advancement efforts, including fundraising, grant writing, alumni relations, and marketing.

DiMaria most recently served as vice president of advancement for the Summit Area YMCA, helping to oversee a $15 million budget and playing a key role in maintaining the organization’s economic stability during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also has extensive experience in university advancement, previously serving as vice president of institutional advancement and executive director of the foundation for Sussex County Community College, among other positions.

A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in marketing and business management, DiMaria earned a Master of Business Administration from Felician University. She currently serves as committee chair for the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council’s Historic Re-grant Committee and as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Gift Planning Council of New Jersey, and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

DiMaria looks forward to advancing Centenary University and its mission in New Jersey’s Skylands Region, and beyond: “I have been warmly welcomed by everyone at Centenary University. I look forward to utilizing the many relationships I have made over the past 21 years in advancement to help support Centenary’s mission and to strengthen it for the future.”
