Joe Lodato has been named the Centenary University men’s lacrosse head coach by Travis Spencer, Centenary’s Director of Athletics. He brings a familiarity with the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) to Hackettstown, spending the last two seasons as the head coach at Keystone College.
“We are very happy to have Joe as the leader of this program,” said Spencer. “He has established himself as a high-quality coach at the Division III level and I feel that he can elevate this program in the years to come. He will bring great energy, knowledge, and work ethic to the program, so we are ready to play in a very competitive CSAC sport.”
Lodato becomes the fourth head coach in program history for the Cyclones. “I’m honored to continue to build on the foundation and tradition here at Centenary University,” said Lodato. “I’m also very excited to get to work to bring the men’s lacrosse program to new heights.”
At Keystone, Lodato was responsible for all aspects of the men’s lacrosse program, from budgeting to recruiting, practice planning, scheduling, and game days. He created program curricula for practice plans, offensive and defensive strategies, and skills training. Lodato coached the program’s first All-CSAC player and had 13 CSAC All-Academic selections.
