Cathy Miller’s People Pic of the Week features three performers from the band, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams, one of the featured acts at this year’s Festival in the Borough in Washington on Saturday Sept. 22.
Welcome Joziah, Tink, Sharkey and the other Slambovians to the Main Stage at 4:15 p.m. Once labeled “the hillbilly Pink Floyd,” it’s a concise characterization of the range of music The Slambovian Circus of Dreams performs. Birthed in Sleepy Hollow many, many years past, the band has traveled extensively and welcomed countless loyal fans into the Slambovian family. No stranger to the area, there played at Knowlton Riverfest many times, as well as at other regional venues. Come on out and support them in their inaugural appearance in Washington. Other bands include Alexis P. Suter, Southbound, The Outcrops, Carol Fredericks & The Dirty Jerzy Band, and many others.
Don’t miss any aspect of the Festival in the Borough on September 22. Vendors, food, plenty of free kids’ activities, and music (all free!) on three stages – it takes place along Washington Avenue from 11 a.m. til 10 p.m. with plenty of free parking! This is a rain-or-shine event. Go to washingtonbid.org for more about this annual event.
