Cathy Miller’s Person of the Week is Stan Cohen, a longtime resident of Port Murray. He has been a student of Tai Chi for 22 years and Qigong for 12. He has taught classes for 12 years. He is pictured here in a movement called Single Whip. It’s a great lower body stretch and benefits the liver and digestive tract, as well as help alleviates arthritis, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow and other such conditions. To better understand the practice of Qigong, Stan explains, “The flow of energy is universal. The practice of Qigong connects us on physical and emotional levels to the universal energy, providing re-energizing and restorative benefits.” For an introduction to Qigong, join Stan Cohen on Friday, June 1 at 6 p.m. for an hour-long class on the beautiful grounds of the Orchard View Lavender Farm in Port Murray.
