For those non-profit organizations that have thought about hosting a golf fundraiser but the idea became overwhelming, Apple Mountain Golf Club in White Township is offering them an opportunity to “host” an event without the hassle.
Apple Mountain does the work, golfers enjoy a day out on the course, and non-profits in need of funds reap the benefits when the club hosts the Christopher Columbus Charity Golf Outing on Friday Oct. 9.
Those non-profit groups representing children and adults, PTA’s, churches, and others that are dependent on donations, can enjoy the benefits of participating in Apple Mountain Golf Club’s specially designed golf for charity tournament. In the several years the club has hosted this event, hundreds and hundreds of dollars have been raised for many different organizations.
“The tournament has been very helpful particularly to those organizations that are challenged to raise money,” said Jan Kiszonak, owner of Apple Mountain, a long-time supporter of many non-profits in the area.
There is a new twist to the outing this year. As a way to kick off the Columbus Day Weekend, the outing takes place on Friday Oct. 9. The two-person scramble costs only $75 per golfer, which includes lunch, all golfing fees, and an Italian Feast post-event awards dinner.
This fundraiser, open to any golfer and all non-profit organizations, is designed specifically so that your group can make money on a golf outing without all the planning details normally associated with an event such as this. For non-profits that have been interested in having a successful golf outing but are unsure about participation or how to sufficiently host one, this outing is the perfect fit.
Indeed, the only “work” to be done to raise money is to play some golf! It’s also a great opportunity for organizations to get a feel of an outing and see if it’s something they might want to do on their own at a later date.
For this outing, a foursome, for example, can generate $140 directly to a charity of the group’s choosing. Registration and light lunch is from 11:30-12:45 p.m., with the start scheduled for 1. Guests can attend the dinner for $29.95 which includes gratuity and your charity receives $10.
“All your organization has to do is sign up the golfers and after the payments have been received, your organization will receive a check,” said Kiszonak. “We do the rest. The idea is to keep it as simple as possible for everyone.”
There is no limit on the number of golfers you can register. The more you register, the more your organization makes. For further information or for a brochure, please call Apple Mountain, 908 – 453 – 3023 ext. 1.
