Here are this year’s WBID honorees!
Anne Boie, Business Person of the Year
Anne Boie owns the Washington Candy Closet, co-owns 214 Farm to Market Restaurant, and the soon to be open Beansie’s coffee shop, all located on E. Washington Ave. (Route 57) in Downtown Washington.
Anne is a true leader in the Downtown community; not only is she involved with her own businesses, but she is extremely supportive of all businesses whether it’s sharing information, cross-promoting, attending grand openings, or simply offering morale support.
Home Instead Senior Care, Business of the Year
Home Instead Senior Care has called Washington Borough home for several years. Under the ownership of Tracy Fazzolari, the company has been hugely successful in Warren County, and Hunterdon, taking care of hundreds of clients annually.
Fazzolari is no stranger to “awards”. For example, she was a recent inductee of the Warren County Hall of Fame for her business and philanthropy endeavors. Fazzolari’s efforts in the community at-large are second to none.
Dan Rossi, Special Recognition
Dan Rossi, owner of Get A Grip & More! has always been supportive of the Washington Borough community. Never has this been more in play than during the COVID pandemic. Rossi personally helped organizations and residents attain much needed PPE and other supplies, sometimes even delivering packages personally to those in need.
Washington Borough Green Team, Community Partners
The Washington Borough Green Team, made up of local volunteers, has truly done its part to make Washington Borough a beautiful community through plantings and upkeep, by coordinating the weekly Farmers Market June through September, and initiating the Annual Green Fest which has now grown into an arts, music and GREEN event.
Mary Adelman, BID Regional Partner
To the many new—and established—businesses that have sought the help of the Small Business Development Center in recent years, Mary Adelman was the go-to person who made the process easier. Her easy-going style, and knowledge and expertise, provided entrepreneurs in particular, with the guidance so important when starting a new business. Adelman will be missed and the WBID wants to recognize in appreciation her good work for the business community here and throughout the region.
