The Blue Dahlia returns to Centenary Stage Company’s Sitnik stage featuring lyrics in English and French, French and Mexican accordion, klezmer violin, warm and joyous rhythms of reggae, ska and Latin America, the sensual voice of jazz and French chanson. The music can be heard as an acoustic trio in the intimate bistros of New York and Paris, as well as the electric big band in venues and festivals around the world. Dahlia’s debut ablum “The Blue Dahlia” was released in 2015, the second, “La Tradition Americaine” came out in August of 2018.
Second in the line-up for Centenary Stage Company’s January Thaw Music Festival is American Patchwork Quartet who will be coming to the Sitnik stage on January 22, 2022, at 8:00 pm. Highly acclaimed artists Falu Shah (vocals), Clay Ross (guitar/vocals), Clarence Penn (drums), and Yasushi Nakamura (bass) showcase the dynamic diversity of contemporary culture by reimagining timeless songs from America’s past. Centenary Stage Company will also be hosting A Conversation with American Patchwork Quartet on January 22, at 3 p.m. This event is free to attend with reservations required and made possible through the ArtsCONNECT program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Patrons who attend this outreach program will also receive $10 off their tickets to see American Patchwork Quartet. To make a reservation for A Conversation with American Patchwork Quartet call the Centenary Stage Company box office at (908) 979-0900.
Finally, Centenary Stage Company will finish up their January Thaw Music Festival with a performance by Best of the Eagles on January 29, at 8:00 pm. Performing the band’s greatest hits from the 70’s, 80’s and beyond, each member mirrors his counterpart in the Eagles instrumentally and vocally. This group of musicians expertly and authentically re-create the songs, music, and vocals of the Eagles making this is the most authentic recreation next to seeing the Eagles live.
Each of these events will also be live streamed, and links are available for $10.00 each. For more information, go to centenarystageco.org or call Centenary Stage Company’s box office at (908) 979-0900.
