Centenary Stage Company will hold an open-call audition for the upcoming production of “Off the Map” by Christine Foster on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Auditions will be in the Lackland Performing Arts Center of the Centenary University campus at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown. Performers will be asked to read from sides which can be found online at centenarystageco.org and will also be provided the day of auditions.

The first rehearsal will be on Tuesday, March 7, and performances will run Thursday, March 23 through Sunday, April 2. All performers must show proof of vaccination.

The play follows Denny and Claire who have retired to the wilds of Central America, where they quickly discover that things are not as they were expecting, neither in their relationship nor in their new property. A mysterious mound is discovered by a pair of archaeologists who arrive on the scene, making a shattering discovery which will challenge all their beliefs about what is ever truly real and what is imagined.

The two leads have been cast.

Seeking: Dr. Julio Ferrero, M: 40-ish. Mexican but, educated in Europe, has a mid-Atlantic accent, charismatic, charming, and definitely in touch with his spiritual side

Angela Lang, F: Mid-20s. A graduate student. (Preferably non-Caucasian). The true voice of reason, Angela is realist and A-Type personality. She is the smartest person in the room, no doubt about it.
