Former three-sport Warren Hills athlete Ryan Callahan has earned an Emmy Award for a special media project he created with the assistance of Billy Crystal and Hall of Fame shortstop Derek Jeter.
Since 2019 Callahan has worked for the New York Yankees on digital media and special promotional projects. He has earned two promotions for his meritorious work and currently serves as the Yankees’ Director of Digital and Social Content.
At Warren Hills he played baseball, basketball and football for the Blue Streaks and he has been a Yankees fan since his childhood. He has described working for the Yankees as “living my dream.”
In his senior year at Warren Hills he was recognized as a scholar athlete of distinction by the Hunterdon/Warren athletic directors at a banquet at Flynn’s On The Hill in Phillipsburg. He graduated from DeSales University in Lehigh Valley, Pa., four years later. From 2013 to 2017 he worked on a variety of digital and social media projects on a freelance basis and then worked from Secaucus, NJ, for the National Basketball Association.
Among his recent projects for the Yankees, he arranged a Friends and Family discount link for up to a 50 percent discount on Yankees’ tickets.
A community-minded person with a heart as big as his 6-foot-7-inch frame, Callahan has performed voluntary service for Habitat for Humanity and The Appalachia Service Project.

Also dedicated to service above self and good works in the community is the Mohoha ice hockey team which has commenced its 2023-24 season. The team’s name comes from its three-school cooperative alliance, as the players come from three high schools, Mount Olive, Hopatcong, and Hackettstown. The team was a state tournament qualifier last season and hopes to reach that lofty level again.
In a 7-3 win over Nutley on December 9, Daniel McGarry scored two short-handed goals while the opponent was skating with an extra-man power play. That is a rarity at any level of the sport.
Also putting the biscuit into the basket for Mohoha were Tyler Muscolino, Daniel Testa (twice), Liam Parr, and Dom Landolfi.
Assists were distributed off the sticks of Testa, Keegan Ciborski, Parr, Landolfi, Kyle Ensinger and Ryan Puco.
In a loss to Bernards, a strong defensive team, Testa scored the only goal for Mohoha, assisted by Landolfi.
Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building.
