Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. has received a $15,000 grant from the John A. and Margaret Post Foundation.
The funds will be used to purchase a ceiling lift track system that will benefit individuals with limited mobility and medical needs at Abilities’ residential services at the Village at Hawk Pointe.
Initially, Abilities’ residential services will provide life skill training and opportunities for 16 individuals, who will live in four apartments and be supported around the clock by Abilities staff. Groundbreaking for the first of two buildings began in October, 2023. More information on the apartment building project may be found at https://abilitiesnw.com/residential-services/.
“As we expand into residential services, this generous gift will enable us to purchase a ceiling lift track system through technology such as ‘SureHands Lift and Care®.’ The system will provide individuals with a safe and secure transport from their bedroom to the bathroom. We are truly grateful for this support,” said Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Wildermuth.
The John A. and Margaret Post Foundation supports charitable organizations that benefit the quality of life for families and society in general, primarily in northwest New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania.
