Abilities ready to debut state-of-the-art residential program

Grand opening planned for spring at The Village at Hawk Pointe in Washington, NJ

Abilities of Northwest Jersey Inc.’s innovative new residential community is scheduled to open this spring at The Village at Hawk Pointe in Washington, NJ.

“We still have apartments available for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities who would thrive in our supportive and enriching environment, particularly those requiring medical supports,” said Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Wildermuth. “Our residents will experience a welcoming, inclusive environment that will enable them to enjoy independence, a high quality of life, and meaningful community engagement.”

Located at 366 Route 31 South in Washington, NJ, the state-of-the-art residential program is designed to provide comprehensive, personalized services. With convenient access to Abilities’ Phillipsburg, Hackettstown, and Washington day programs—along with lift-equipped transportation services—The Village at Hawk Pointe will offer both community-based and in-home supports tailored to each individual’s needs.

Each apartment functions as a group home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. With 1,900 square feet of space, these apartments prioritize comfort, safety, and accessibility, with backup generators, smart technology, the latest safety advancements, and an open layout with durable tiled flooring to support mobility and independence.

Additionally, two of the four apartments are designed to foster a safe, engaging, and empowering environment for individuals with complex medical needs. These units feature overhead Hoyer lift tracking and on-site nursing support. Direct support personnel and licensed practical nurses will be hired to provide 24/7 assistance with social, behavioral, and daily living skills for each resident.
