Keeping their consumers healthy and safe is a high priority for Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc., and two recent grants will help in this endeavor.

A $1,000 grant from the TJX Foundation and a $5,000 grant from the Cathay Bank Foundation will be used toward COVID-related expenses, including the purchase of personal protective equipment and cleaning costs for Abilities’ eight program locations.

“The Coronavirus pandemic created unprecedented challenges and unanticipated expenses associated with assuring the safety of the individuals we serve and our staff,” said Abilities COO Susan Zukoski. The support from these organizations is greatly appreciated, she said.

The TJX Foundation is an affiliate of TJX Companies, Inc., a leading worldwide apparel and home fashions retailer. Its mission is to provide value to communities by helping vulnerable families and children access the resources and opportunities they need to build a better future.

The Cathay Bank Foundation, an affiliate of Cathay Bank, raises and administers funds for many community-based nonprofit organizations. Its objective is to create opportunities in the areas of affordable housing, community, and economic development and education.
