Abilities celebrates a golden anniversary
WASHINGTON, NJ – May 29, 2024 – More than 210 people gathered at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in Hampton, NJ, on May 11 to celebrate Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc.’s 50th anniversary. The Dream-Believe-Achieve Gala raised more than $119,000, surpassing this year’s fundraising goal by nearly 20 percent.
The anniversary celebration, led by Master of Ceremonies Bert Baron from WRNJ Radio, featured a special performance by Abilities’ Rockstars Choir and presentations from:
- Paul Sterbenz, event sponsor and past president of Abilities’ Board of Trustees;
- Dave Molinaro, current Board president;
- Lynn Alleger, one of Abilities’ founders;
- Carolyn Wolf, a grassroots parent advocate;
- Carol Carter, 41-yearservice recipient;
- Assemblyman John DiMaio (R-District 23); and,
- Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Wildermuth.
“For half a century, Abilities has enabled thousands of individuals to dream about a better future, receive the supports they need to believe in their capabilities, and achieve their goals. It was special to celebrate this evening with them as well as our supporters, friends, staff, and trustees,” said Wildermuth. “We’re grateful for our community, proud of our accomplishments, and excited about the future as we continue to provide innovative services for those in need.”
