Anika Rivera and her son Daniel, age two, hail from Washington and thoroughly enjoy their regular outings to Meadowbreeze Park.

While Daniel was “motoring” in a plastic police cruiser, Anika said, “When I was five years old I wanted to be a teacher. Even at that age, I liked the idea of passing knowledge on to others.”

Since then she has become a nurse, employed at Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, and feels there actually is a teaching component to her job. “As a nurse, I still educate my patients.”

When asked what direction young Daniel’s interests may take him, his mom replied, “He doesn’t really talk yet, but my guess is he’s going to be an engineer or a firefighter. He  likes building things.” She added, “Whatever he wants to be, I will accept it – as long as it makes him happy.”

Special note to Daniel: Thank you for being my friend! Hope you and your Mom have lots more fun playing at the park!
