Thirteen is a lucky number for this year’s Washington Business Improvement District Car show.

Celebrating its 13th anniversary, the Car Show this year will feature “13 Surprises” on Saturday June 24 in Downtown Washington. This year’s event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain date June 25).

For starters, the first 13 people to register their classic vehicles will all receive a special gift, and the first 13 to register will also be entered into a special drawing for a huge prize.

“We want to have some fun with this year’s Car Show,” said John Monteverde, Executive Director of the WBID. “It’s always been a great event, but we wanted to add extra excitement this year.”

This is more than just a car show. In addition to classic cars, the WBID invites antique truck, and farm equipment owners to showcase their vehicles. Owners of Rat Rods are also invited to bring their vehicles to Downtown Washington, too! In addition, the Big Bone Daddy Band will be performing live and DJ Mitch Hess will be spinning tunes as well!

The show takes place in the Municipal Parking Lot by the Town Clock.  In between checking out the show vehicles, folks can also take advantage of the weekly farmers’ market and do some vegetable and fruit shopping with local farmers on hand, check out the many unique downtown shops, and have a bite to eat at several eateries. Additionally, there will be entertainment throughout the day.

Presented by the Washington Business Improvement District and the Downtown Borough Shopping District, all the action takes place on E. Washington Avenue (Rt. 57). The show, with sponsorship from Herbalist & Alchemist, Rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC, Smith Motor Company, Michael Yates & Co., RJ Strunk, Good Impressions, Stew’s Auto Body, Fliegauf’s Jewelers, and WRNJ Radio, is family friendly and free to the public.

The car show began in 2004 and is always a well-attended event with vehicles from throughout the region and beyond converging on Washington.

The car show generally attracts dozens of cars, and trucks that fill up the parking lot. There are always giveaways, goodie bags to all attendees, and prizes awarded for Muscle/Pony Cars, Cruiser, Pre 1940, Rarest, Foreign/Exotic, Hot Rod/Rat Rod, and People’s Choice. Preregistration for all vehicles is just $10.
